The 100 quilt block issue is such a great resource for block design, color placement and project inspiration. Quiltmaker reaches out to designers, bloggers, and graphic people for original quilt block designs. Each person makes their block, then sends it in to the magazine. Quiltmaker's editorial team then photographs each block and creates instructions. Here are a few of the blocks in the newest issue made using Moda fabrics.

ReplyDeleteIt takes 49 blocks to make a 7x7 queen sampler quilt. There is a need to have 100 new blocks so can make two quilts this year! In fact, two 100 Block issues a year is perfect! I want to make every single block that I've seen in this blog hop.

ReplyDeleteSometimes magazine patterns are just old patterns with new fabrics. They are often beautiful, but I like seeing new and original patterns and the 100 Blocks issues have provided this every time! I have enjoyed every issue and love making these new blocks. So I definitely need this new issue! Thanks for the chance.

ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't "need" more 100 blocks --- I already have too many ideas to last me a lifetime --- but, I "want" it. Those blocks give me so many ideas and I love to see the use of the fabrics and settings, and ... well, it just kicks in the imagination!

ReplyDeleteWell of course I 'need' 100 more quilt block patterns :) I like to make one or 2 scrappy blocks a week to use up scraps and add a challenge in the midst of other quilts I'm making. It keeps me from wanting to make another quilt before I finish one I'm doing. But also I'm making one slowly anyway lol

I need a copy of the magazine because I am very inspired to get busy and piece, applique, paper piece, and embroider. I use my other issues of 100 blocks all the time. I like to try something I wouldn't normally try and then see what I come up with.

As a quilter I can't have too much fabric or too many quilt block designs. I love, love this issue and always make things using some of the block designs. Like a cook who reads cookbooks for the pleasure of it, I like to read quilt books, blogs and magazines.

ReplyDeleteI made my first patterned quilt in 1984 and have not stopped since. Am making baby quilts now for grandkids and love seeing the new fabrics in these bright and beautiful blocks. I NEED the next issue because I am constantly making the blocks from past issues to send off to other quilters in a Birthday Block Swap in which I participate. In fact, I just this week made 4 different blocks using volume 4. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 100 Block issue!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI need 100 more quilt block patterns because I still have room n my bookcase shelf for at least one more quilt magazine. I have to have all of them....ok, I might be the next person on Hoarders...but I still want more quilt blocks.
