Hi Everyone! I am Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts. Good memories bring JOY to me. I have gathered so many of them by being a part of Moda’s family and I am truly thankful to be a part of the Moda 12 days of JOY Blog.
Today is December 6th
– “Saint Nicholas Day”. I love this
day as my Mom would put presents under our pillow as we were sleeping. As the
years pass I have learned that not only receiving but giving brings us even
more JOY.
As I look back on past holidays
there are many special moments filled with family, friends, good food,
presents, and some quilting projects that have brought JOY
to my heart. I’d love to share some of these JOYous moments with you as we
look back.
The Holiday Season is full of
simple pleasures bringing JOY to my day and making quilts is one of them.
As I wander around
trying to get some last minute shopping finished, I felt a JOY to be almost done!
In a hectic pursuit to fill
the wish lists, I stop for a moment and picked up something for me. A quilters JOY for my tree.
Henry has brought so much JOY by helping to wrap gifts.
My daughter, Anna, hosted a
Christmas party for her friends and it was a JOY to help her prepare for
her guests.
Those cupcakes have brought
a great amount of JOY to the girls (and myself)!
I love the JOYous time before Christmas
in the kitchen, when I get to prepare wonderful recipes that my mother and
mother-in-law have passed on to me.
Another tradition is to
bake a lot of cookies, everyone has their favorite shapes and it brings such JOY to see my husband Mike
choose the heart, me as the snowman, dolphin for Delfina, star for Anna and
little Michael loves trees.
My JOY, little Michael, wanted a
lot of his Christmas Tree cookies last year;
we baked so many!
There are also lots of JOYful hugs and Eskimo kisses.
Not to mention the
chocolate Kisses that = JOY
Waiting for my flower to
bloom = JOY
My Winter Batik Collection
"JOY" has been one of my
favorites!
These fabrics are full of beautiful reds, greens and lights - perfect for
getting you into the Holiday Spirit.
I have many wonderful
projects to inspire you like this JOY quilt.
Happy Holidays from
all of us and we wish you a lot of JOY this season!
In the holiday spirit we have
a giveaway on the Laundry Basket Quilts Blog, it will bring me JOY
to see you there.
Monday Dec 9 is reserved
for “Me and My Sister”, don’t forget to stop back and share some of the JOY
with them!
Great class. Wonderful giving teacher. Will tak many more classes from her. Edyta sitar. Great ! !
ReplyDeleteI just finished a class with Edyta Sitar. She is wonderful. A great teacher and motivator. She was so inspiring. I was amazed by her quilting skills. If you ever get an opportunity to take one of her classes, sign up quick. I cannot wait for her new line Jelly Bean to come out. I see many more projects in my future.
ReplyDeleteIt was a JOY to attend Edyta's Stars workshop yesterday! She makes sure her students all understand how to accurately construct their blocks. She is really generous in the supply kit she provides for her students, giving us extra fabric in case we goof or don't like any of our blocks. Learning new tips and skills is a JOY. Thank you Edyta!!
